New Year Resolution
December 31, 2009

...and bring a friend to church
I am only making one new year resolution this year. I usually don’t make any because they are usually broken by the end of January. This year, my one resolution is to bring someone to Christ. The bible and the SP website will be my primary tools to make that happen. I hope you will make this your resolution too and invite your friends and neighbors to come to Shell Point. Send them an e-mail and invite them to take a look at www.shellpointbaptistchurch.org and come to church with you next Sunday.
It looks like I will be getting some help on the website and I am excited about that. More about that later. Now I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year. May God watch over you, put that wonderful “hedge of protection” around you and and your family and keep you safe.

Pictures and prayer on the Shell Point website
December 16, 2009
We have room for lots of pictures on this website. If you have digital pictures of a church event in .jpg format, please loan them to to Joy Kircher so she can share them with everyone on the website. Joy will be taking over posting announcements and pictures on the website in early January and I know she will do a great job. If you know of anything that needs to be in the announcements or on the calendar, please see Joy. We have a special need for pictures.
All of the forms you see on the website go to Joy when you send them. The form on the “Contact” page has multiple uses. One use is to submit a prayer request. If you or someone in your family needs prayer, please use the form so that our Shell Point prayer warriors can pray for you.

Read the Bible in a year
December 14, 2009
Have you ever read the entire bible from cover to cover? What a blessing this can be and we have a reading plan online just for you. Many of the pages on this website have a sidebar on the left side of the page. Find one of those pages, scroll down to Bible Study and click Read the Bible in a year. This is a good time to get started because the readings will begin on January 1. Get ready, pray about it and make a resolution to read the Bible in a year. This link will help you accomplish that goal and when you finish, you will have a greater understanding of God’s holy word.

Youth items of interest
December 8, 2009
For starters Pizza N Praise has been talked about since last December 5 by several students. I am so glad you guys had a great time. It was a blast. We are looking forward to hearing from Tim Padgett at our next one in January.
Second I want to announce that the youth of Shell Point Baptist will begin painting this Christmas vacation. Yes you heard it first we are painting. We met and got a lot of great ideas for the walls in the youth room. Our goal is to be completed by January 8 for our First BOOM (Building our outreach ministries). Theme song: Boomin by Toby Mac.

BOOM is designed as a first Friday of the month fun time at the POINT. We will have Super Nintendo, Guitar Praise, Chess (for C.J.), Christian Music, full size pacman arcade game in the youth room, and great food and fellowship. I can’t wait.
Third we will be Christmas caroling and having our annual party with the youth December 18. We will be going to Bayview at 5pm, and then to the Baker home. Don’t forget your $10 or less gift for our Christmas exchange game.
Fourth we will be delivering gifts to the angel tree family and going out for a fellowship afterwards December 23.
Fifth we will be going to Gatlinburg December 29-31 for an awesome Xtreme Winter Conference.
Wow, I got through it. We are going to be “Boomin” at the POINT.
